Selecting Multiple files only selects the last one to put into the archive

Compressing a single file works fine. Compressing a folder with files in it works fine as well. But when I select multiple files with selection mode and try to compress them into an archive, it only archives the last file I selected. I don't know why. Any help would be appreciated.
