[SUGGESTION] Trigger Note - a VFX Oriented "Note Type"
suggestion
**Is your suggestion related to a problem? Please describe.**
The goal for this function is to introduce varied VFX in a way that isn't random.
**Describe the solution you'd like**
A Trigger note is a "note type" (not actually) that, when hit, allows Decoration, Ease, and Text events linked to it to function. This could probably apply to other vfx events but for now these are the main ones I have in mind.
This could have applications like having the player look in a certain direction to pet a cat, choosing altered visuals of chart in real time, or sending them a ">:)" face if they go the unintended route in keygen, just to give a few examples.
Trigger notes do not count towards accuracy or combo count.
They do not visibly render by default, but they have the option to.
Trigger notes have an inverted checkbox, which will change their behavior to instead prevent linked events from loading when hit.
When a trigger note is placed, the charter must set an ID for it. Trigger notes can share ID's but if any one of them are hit then their linked events will load (or unload if checked).
Linkable Events now have a new checkbox field called "Trigger". When checked a text field opens to enter a trigger's ID. If this ID doesn't exist it should probably fail to load the level or have some kind of fallback.
A qol addition that might be good to add with this feature: a new window (like go to beat or undo/redo) could pop up the first time a trigger is placed in the chart. The window contains a list of every trigger ID, and a toggle for each individual trigger to force load, force unload, or behave normally. This is just for playtesting purposes and only affects them while in the editor.
**Describe alternatives you've considered**
A thought crossed my mind to let regular notes load via triggers, but this may make this feature complex and game breaking to the average user. It would probably be fine for more advanced users? It has big potential for some cool charting but could definitely be taken too far.
