Telemetry Freshness

I have some nodes deployed without GPS modules and they report telemetry every 3 hours. One is currently offline for maintenance (in my office) and the aged data is still being reported which flags it as 'up' rather than down. Is this a scenario you have come across? I've not gone low into the meshtastic python interface yet but the code doesn't appear to factor telemetry time into it at all? Am I missing something in a config or is this an enhancement required? Thanks!
