maxSpeed not changing the speed

i was trying out your plugin(btw great plugin love your vids) and i wanted to make the spider faster but when i did the command "/options gallopGait maxSpeed 10" i noticed it didn't change a bit, i even tried 5000 and measured with a stopwatch and it was the same. any idea why? I'm thinking it may be my processor bottlenecking the speed because it didn't manage to calculate the movement fast enough, my processor is new but it is the base model, it's the amd ryzen 7600 non-x and also I'm running the server on my computer so it maybe slows it down a bit..? i don't know I'm used 1.21.4 paper but not the latest build(i think i downloaded it last month) i even tried 1.21.3 and yes i used the fabric kotlin language mod with both of them(i see a lot of issues without them)
