Settings corruption after updating

I would want to report that it seems that pre-1.8.X settings are incompatible with newest version, which has probably lead to a lot of problems (and some issues) already reported. For ex. I had some RegExp settings to filter the game names, and somehow on latest update they were not working. Every time I imported new games, the filters were not applied, despite them working fine on previous version. Clicking on remove or add did also not work properly at the settings window. I changed another setting, clicked on save and the entire config json file was rewritten with a new schema and the missing settings. That solved all issues on my side. So... essentially, unless the user explicitly enter into the settings menu and forces a saving, things will be broken somehow when upgrading from previous versions.
