Feature request - support for XMLHttpRequest

XHR has certain features missing in Fetch (e.g. [readyState](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/XMLHttpRequest/readyState)), and it would make using this project in older codebases much easier as there is no need to migrate to Fetch.
