No playback

Self hosted piped instance in standalone mode, running in docker. I can watch videos via the web interface on my laptop, and through libretube on both my tablet and phone on the same network. Through both libreelec and android kodi, i can login and see my subscriptions, but when i try to play a video, it just doesnt play. Log says something like General error, on a 200 httpget response with a /watch?v=xxxxx url. Nothing very useful, but there is no http://piped.local:8080 before the watch endpoint. Inputstream looks like it starts up a demuxer at 127.0.0.1 No error box pops up in kodi. Its like the video stream is a 0 second video. Whats even weirder is if i set piped up through yunohost with a dynamic dns url and an https certificate, open to the world, kodi plays the video just fine. Setting up a .local instance through yunohost did not allow kodi to connect, probably from the certificate error.
