Building any packages from nixpkgs results in infinite recursion

I ran a vm with `nix run 'github:nixos-bsd/nixbsd#extra.vm'`. Any `nix shell nixpkgs#<package>` errors with "error: infinite recursion encountered". I tried it with neofetch, htop, git etc. As it it not just plain NixOS am I missing something?
