debugger exits instantly on rust panic

When starting dape, I don't get an option to debug anything, it just runs my executable, which eventually panics, and then it exits the session. I don't have a way to set a breakpoint since it instantly exits. Not sure if this is the intended behavior or a bug, but I can't seem to find anyone else with this issue.
