Opening a note without providing a name for it?

It's possible to do this in Obsidian and I find it very helpful. It makes it easy to quickly create a note. Also I don't usually have a very good idea for the name I'd like to use until after I've written the note. But maybe Vim won't allow this. I see you use the index page tan journal to collect stuff that might otherwise, and later on, be spread out over several notes.
