If you're using compile-angel in your Doom Emacs config, how did you manage to configure/install it?

Today I tried to do it with Doom Emacs, but got different kinds of errors while trying. Several of them seem to be related to the usage of Doom specific macros (which do not seem to be visible when using compile-angel). Are there any special considerations as to which files should not be byte/native compiled? Any guidance will be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
