When a new user first runs `sudo`, they are met with the following lecture: ``` We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System Administrator. It usually boils down to these three things: #1) Respect the privacy of others. #2) Think before you type. #3) With great power comes great responsibility. For security reasons, the password you type will not be visible. ``` This lecture is quite outdated at this point, for a few reasons: - Sysadmin isn't really a term that's used anymore, and most new users will be using this on their personal machines. - The three rules listed are more of like.. rules of the internet, and don't really seem relevant to personal computers. Some ideas about what a new lecture could look like: - Understand what you're typing before you press enter. - Keep the "With great power comes great responsibility" Other people will probably have better ideas, this is just meant to start conversation.
