Allow Editing Filament Information for Inactive AMS Slots During Printing

Description When running a long or continuous print, I may need to add a new spool to the AMS so it can be used for automatic filament backup/refill. However, if the printer has already switched to another AMS slot and is continuing the print, the newly inserted spool may not be detected correctly. The AMS then shows that the spool has no filament information. If I try to enter the filament information manually, Bambu Studio displays a message saying that the filament settings cannot be modified while printing, as shown in the attached screenshot. Current Behavior All AMS filament slots appear to be locked from editing while a print is in progress, including slots that: Are not currently being used Have not loaded filament into the printer Are only waiting to be configured as backup material As a result, I must wait until the entire print finishes before I can enter the new spool’s information. This prevents seamless automatic filament refill during long print jobs. Suggested Improvement Could manual filament editing be restricted only for the slot that is currently feeding filament to the printer? AMS slots that are inactive, on standby, and have not fed filament into the toolhead should remain editable during printing. Users could then configure a newly inserted spool and assign it as a compatible backup without interrupting the current print. Expected Behavior While printing: The active AMS slot should remain locked to prevent accidental changes. Inactive AMS slots should allow users to set or correct the filament type, color, brand, and other relevant information. Once configured, an inactive slot should be available for automatic filament backup/refill if it is compatible with the active material. This improvement would make long and continuous print jobs much more convenient and allow the AMS automatic refill function to work seamlessly when additional filament is loaded during printing.
