cosmic-panel and cosmic-comp consume large amounts of CPU when the screen is locked

**Describe the bug** When I lock the screen, I notice my CPU Fans spin up, so I ctrl-alt-F2 into a console login, log in there, and run top, and see cosmic-panel and cosmic-comp both taking about 50% of their respective CPUs. This happens on both my machines running PopOS and cosmic: nVidia 3080 with the closed nVidia 580 driver Pangolin laptop from Aug/Sept of 2024 (built-in AMD GPU) The only thing I'm doing that's "weird" is running the minimon applet in the panel. **To Reproduce** Steps to reproduce the behavior: 1. Install and enable minimon on the panel 2. lock the screen 3. notice cosmic-comp and cosmic-panel consuming about 50% CPU time each. **Expected behavior** CPU utilization remains low. **Screenshots** None needed **Desktop (please complete the following information):** - OS: PopOS 24.04 with all the latest updates applied
