mDNS / Bonjour name resolution not working

Operating System: Remote: macOS Sonoma 14.7.7 Local: macOS Sequoia 15.6.1 Within Tranmission Remote GUI, I can use an IP address, but the mDNS name (myserver.local) doesn't work. To rule anything else out: from a command line I can ping the mDNS name fine, and use http://myserver.local:9091 in a browser to connect to the remotely running Transmission.
