`WARNING: encrypted file does not exist!` while installing to a new system

Hello! As in the title, except this time the file _does_ in fact seem to be in the mounted nix store while installing to a new system. My code is long and convoluted, but I'm automating the secrets option to integrate it with `passage`. Should I post all relevant parts here? Thank you kindly for the help!
