#### Problem Adaptive Lighting currently provides modes such as sleep-related behavior that make lighting warmer and dimmer when appropriate. What is missing is the opposite use case: a mode for situations where lights should immediately prioritize **maximum visibility and alertness**, regardless of the normal circadian schedule. In some scenarios, the desired behavior is not comfort or evening wind-down, but rather bright, cool light that helps occupants see clearly and stay alert. #### Proposed solution Add an **Alert mode** to Adaptive Lighting. When Alert mode is active, controlled lights should turn on with: - **maximum or near-maximum brightness** - **cool color temperature** - behavior that **overrides the normal adaptive schedule** while the mode is active This would effectively act as the opposite of sleep mode. #### Example use cases 1. **Emergency visibility** If a fire alarm or similar emergency trigger occurs, lights should immediately switch to bright, cool light to maximize visibility and help occupants exit the building safely. 2. **Maintenance / cleaning** During home maintenance, inspection, or cleaning, users may want very bright, cool lighting to improve visibility. This can make details such as dust, dirt, and surface imperfections easier to notice. #### Why this would be useful This would provide a clean built-in way to temporarily switch Adaptive Lighting from comfort-oriented behavior to **task / emergency-oriented behavior**, without needing separate custom automations to fully override brightness and color temperature. #### Additional notes Ideally this mode would: - be possible to toggle via switch - temporarily override normal adaptation - restore normal Adaptive Lighting behavior when disabled
