Higher homotopy group lacks motivation

Napkin does mention Higher homotopy groups, but their applications aren’t discussed (probably because they’re hard). How about introducing a few simple (hopefully easy) applications to give readers a bit more motivation? For example, how about introducing something like **Whitehead’s theorem** (even if providing a full proof isn’t feasible)?
