Beta Test Report: Hidden Paste Functionality in Set View Modal

### Environment Details: Environment: Mac Osx 15.7.3 Browser: Safari 26.2 (20623.1.14.18.4) GeoLibre version: 1.8.0 (webversion) ### Summary The "Set View" modal window contains a powerful coordinate pasting feature that remains completely hidden from users by default. This creates a discoverability issue where users may manually type coordinates, unaware that a more efficient input method exists. ### Observed UX behaviour As demonstrated in the user interface shown below, opening the "Set View" modal presents users with fields for latitude, longitude, and manual entry format toggles. A label titled "COORDINATES" appears at the top left with a small clipboard icon next to it. However, the interface provides no visual cue that this element is interactive. Users must accidentally hover their mouse cursor over the icon or label to trigger a secondary, hidden panel. Only after this interaction does a new section unfold, as shown in the second screenshot below, revealing an input field labeled "Paste coordinates" with placeholder text: "e.g. 51.5074, -0.1278 or 51°30'26"N, 0°07'39"W" and a "Process input" button. Because this input area is tucked away behind a hidden toggle, the workflow feels unpredictable and obscures a primary tool for power users. ### Expected or optimised proposed behaviour The paste coordinate functionality should be surfaced immediately upon opening the "Set View" modal. Instead of hiding the input field behind an obscure hover trigger, the interface should display the "Paste coordinates" section by default, or provide a permanently visible, clearly labeled button that expands the field without requiring precise mouse positioning. Surfacing this tool directly allows users to quickly paste location data from external sources without hunting for hidden UI elements. ### Additional information Hiding core utilities behind "hover-to-reveal" interactions is a common design pitfall that disadvantages users who prefer direct, keyboard-driven, or intentional workflows. By making the coordinate paste field a standard part of the "Set View" layout, the application reduces the learning curve and speeds up map navigation tasks. ### Implications Fixing this visibility issue aligns the "Set View" workflow with modern UX standards, where primary actions are always accessible.
