I think that, instead of saying "Sorry, play again" if you don't win a soda cap prize, the cap should compliment you. You know, like, "That cream you're using really cleared up your rash" or "are you a model?". CheeseburgerBrown's latest outbursts of random compliments reminded me of this thought of mine, which occurred to me a while ago. Cheers for bringing it to the World's Wide Web, CBB.

Other disjointed thoughts:

I'm kinda pissed that Spain dropped out of Euro 2004. Why can't they ever manage to put together a decent tournament run? Also unfortunate, the English managed to get out of the group stage. Hopefully the Portugese take them to school. I guess I'll root for the Danes, since nobody that I really like made it through the group stages (unless Latvia gets through, in which case, go Latvia!)
Also, I found a local Indian place that has satellite coverage of all the games, so maybe I'll go watch some.

The Red Sox are still going to win the AL East. I wish they'd won the series against the Giants, but oh well.

Anybody think Martina Navritalova (sp?) can win her next game at Wimbledon?

I think I'm going to start applying for shit jobs tomorrow. Supermarkets and video rental stores, here I come!

Would anyone like to see an article on ultimate frisbee in the queue? I have it all outlined - it talks about the game itself as well as the culture that surrounds it. Vote in the poll.

All I know of it is that one of my college friends used to vanish from the dorms every once in a while to play it, met a girl doing so, and moved to Oklahoma with her.

So I guess my question is:
Is that in the rules or was that some kind of freak coincidence?

The question mark is because I have never actually used this, or any other NES emulator, but it is the only one that shows up in my Debian apt-cache search. Debian packages are usually pretty complete/reliable, so I'd look into this app. I am currently using the ZSNES Super Nintendo emulator, installed through Debian, and it works very well.

I've never found anything of comparable quality to zsnes for NES emulation, and I'd rather play NES games. They're worth more for nostalgia value for me.

frisbee golf is an entirely different game. Ultimate frisbee involves passing a disc around a field like an american football field, trying to get into the opponent's end zone. You can't run with the disc, this has to be accomplished by passing it.

its something like this.

Netball is like basketball with all the dynamism and fun taken out of it. You can't move whilst in possession of the ball and you can only hold onto it for a limited period of time (a few seconds). You score, like in basketball, by getting the ball through the basket. However, you must be still when shooting (I think its one foot on the floor) and there is no back-board (if thats the right word for it). So no slam dunks or anything like that. Only certain players can shoot as well IIRC.

It is played exclusively by girls and women here in UKia. Thus, I don't know too much about it. In retrospect it reeks of sort of Victorian edginess about the physical frailty and modesty of young women.

I have the theory that soccer being a game largely for kids and women in America is retaliation for us making Basketball (in the form of Netball) and Baseball (in the form of Rounders) girl's games in the UK.

Frisbee is a very fast-moving game which involves a ton of running and diving, and the "only allowed on certain areas of the field" rule of netball sounds pretty nazi.
