I was just browsing people's away messages, as I often do unthinkingly when I'm trying to do work. Anyway, in one person's profile, I just found this snippet of an IM conversation:
Dagfir Bloodaxe: anything is possible on acid, sam-san
chaosking613: no power can defeat a scone of vagabond
In just two lines, these two characters have managed to squeeze in an almost unbelievable amount of loserdom.

One of the kids in the IM quote is some freshman I play frisbee with.

...then you go into your user stylesheet and type:

padding-top: 1em !important;
}

or something similar. This way not only do you no longer have to mess up my display, but everybody's lists will look the way you like them.

I guess it's excusable though, as Scoop's HTML is horribly broken anyways. Someday this will be fixed however, and the HTML gods will strike you down as you type.

I find that if I take it slowly, a chapter at a time, I'm able to absorb it a lot better than I would otherwise. I also pretty much have to read it with some scratch paper, although I seem to be past the real mathematical section of the book.

I usually have to stop after every chapter or pair of chapters. It's almost better to read this way. I think I absorb more than I would otherwise.
