Some things to report, but mostly sitting here bored.
- Teryaki Chicken is by far the best flavor of Ramen Noodles. There can be no debate. In a close second comes Cajun Chicken.
- Can it seriously be 50 degrees and rainy for two days in a row? Has anyone informed Ms. Nature that it is currently May 16? Perhaps I shall leave her a message, telling her that she should just cut it out.
- I still can't wait for Frisbee season to start. If you don't know what Ultimate Frisbee is, follow that link, it's the best site for it out there.
- I may resume trying to make my linux laptop able to hotswap my cd-rom and my hard drive, which share a bay. It has to do something with changing parameters of the running kernel, using /proc/sys/something, but I'm not exactly sure what. Sometimes this need to DIY makes me love linux, sometimes I hate it, and I'm never sure until I actually try to make something work.
- I'm nearly done with David Berlinski's book "The Advent of the Algorithm". It's very well written, and I heartily recommend it to non-math people who want to know something about the mathematical concept that practically defines our modern world. Some of the math was boring to me (I already knew it) but most of it was very interesting and clear. He provides the most beautiful description of a diagonalization proof; it's worth the price of the book, and should be shown to anyone who doesn't believe that math can be beautiful.
